Certifications and Recognitions
ABR -- The Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR®) designation is the benchmark of excellence in buyer representation. This coveted designation is awarded to real estate practitioners by the Real Estate BUYERS AGENT Council (REBAC) of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® who met the specified educational and practical experience criteria.
e-Pro -- The REALTOR e-PRO; certification course is an educational program unlike any other professional certification or designation course available, comprehensive and interactive. It is specifically designed to provide real estate professionals with the technology tools needed to assist consumers in the purchase or sale of a home.
The exclusive REALTOR e-PRO certification course is presented entirely online and certifies real estate agents and brokers as Internet professionals. The course is designed to help REALTORS stay at the leading edge of technology and identify, evaluate and implement new Internet business models.
GRI -- Graduate, Realtor Institute is a professional designation for those who have graduated from the Realtor Institute, also associated with the National Association of Realtors. REALTORS with this designation have completed a comprehensive education program in residential real estate.
In 1999 Matthew McAward came to Eastern Tennessee from Northern Arizona. After obtaining his Tennessee Real Estate License he worked as an agent for Century 21 All Seasons Real Estate in Pigeon Forge. He worked for Century 21 for almost two years before joining Realty Executives. Wanting an office closer to home, Matthew joined Barnes & Associates of Seymour in August of 2003, which was purchased by ERA Top Producers, Inc. in April of 2004. Shortly after the purchase, Matthew was promoted to managing broker for their Seymour office.
Matthew received his ABR and GRI designations in April of 2003, and his e-PRO certification in May of 2006.
In July of 2006 Matthew returned to the Realty Executives family where he is currently working in all of Sevier County, Blount County and Knox County. He is a member of the National Association of Realtors, The Tennessee Association of Realtors, The Knoxville Area Association of Realtors and The Great Smoky Mountain Association of Realtors.
